Super Junior, 2NE1, and Hyuna were all recipients of the YouTube K-pop Music Video awards.


On November 22nd at 1 PM in Yeoksam-dong of Seoul, Google Korea held the 2011 YouTube K-pop Awards for the most popular k-pop videos. The three hot k-pop acts, Super Junior, 2NE1, and Hyuna of 4minute were all given awards.


Hyuna said, "I was surprised to know I had so many hits on YouTube. I've seen that so many people have made and uploaded videos with my song [Bubble Pop]. I was inspired because many of them were even better than me."


2NE1 also commented, " We'll continue to upload lots of cool videos. Please support us. We worked hard on our music video for "I'm The Best", so there'd be lots of cool stuff to see, so that's probably why so many people watched it."


Super Junior's Leeteuk expressed, "This award is all the more valuable because our fans from all over the world have helped create it. We'll continue to spread Korea's great culture to the world. I myself have clicked on our own music video about 10 times. Also, after we hold concerts overseas, there are always video clips uploaded right after which makes us realize how great the power of media is."


Super Junior's "Mr. Simple" video on YouTube had the most hits, with 26.94 million. 2NE1's "I'm The Best" was second with 22.09 million hits, and Hyuna's "Bubble Pop" followed with 21.66 million hits. In fact, within the top 10 list, there were three of 2NE1's videos: "I'm The Best", "Lonely", and "Hate You".

Harimau Malaya after their victory

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak tonight congratulated the national football squad for winning the 26th Sea Games gold in the final against Indonesia at the Utama Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta.
Najib said: "Well done and congratulations! The people and I are really delighted as they (football squad) had played with full spirit," he said in his Twitter message.
With this victory of the squad coached by Ong Kim Swee, Malaysia managed to defend the gold in football it won at the Laos SEA Games in 2009.
The squad, known as Harimau Muda (Young Tigers) defeated Indonesia 5-4 on penalties after the teams drew 1-1.
Malaysia remained fourth on the medal table in this edition of the SEA Games held since Nov 11 and will end tomorrow.
Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, meanwhile, said he would discuss with Sports Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek on the special reward to be given to the squad and other teams that had done well at the 26th SEA Games.
"I as chairman of the Cabinet Committee for Sports feel so proud of their performance," he told reporters, here.
Earlier, Muhyiddin had watched the football final between Malayssia and hosts Indonesia at a Sirim-Industries 2011 function.
He said the football squad's victory showed the sport's return to glory as seen many years ago.
"I congratulate FAM (Football Association of Malaysia, coaches, team captain and players, the minister concerned and others involved. The whole nation is proud of the squad's victory," he said.
In PALEMBANG, Harimau Muda squad winning gold was also celebrated with joy by Malaysian athletes, officials and supporters.
"This is a historic day for Malaysian sports as besides exceeding the target in medal haul, we have also won the mother of all medals, the gold in football," said National Sports Council director-general Datuk Zolkples Embong.
"Malaysia's two consecutive wins in football at the Sea Games is so sweet for us all," said Zolkples who had been watching the Malaysia-Indonesia match with NSC officials and several Malaysian media representatives at the hotel he is staying.
"We had lost some main players but the ones on the field tonight played well and showed grit to win the final," he added.

18 Nov – Loyal fans have defended Wonder Girls time and time again, and now, back in their homeland, the South Korean girl group take their turn at the stand by responding to Teddy Riley's negative comments about them being a flop in the States.
According to kpopfever, on 16 November, in an episode of MBC's "Golden Fishery – Radio Star", Wonder Girls were the guests and they used the opportunity to speak their mind about the allegations.
When asked what they thought in regards to Teddy Riley's public negative comments about their promotions overseas, the girls said, "We found out about it by reading articles online. We were more surprised by the fact that he even knew who we were."
Earlier in September, Teddy Riley, the music producer who worked with SNSD on their hit single "The Boys", updated his Twitter saying that no one is interested in the Wonder Girls and that SNSD would be a much bigger hit in the States.
One of the hosts asked, "Do you think he was keeping you in check as he worked with SNSD?"
The girls responded, "I think it actually benefited us. It gave us some publicity as we were getting ready to debut our album."

18 Nov – Penerbit kontroversi Raja Azmi Raja Sulaiman, 52 yang hadir pada majlis perasmian Filem Festival Malaysia ke-24 (FFM 24) baru-baru ini telah naik angin dengan secara tiba-tiba bangun dari tempat duduknya dan meninggalkan majlis tersebut gara-gara tidak berpuas hati dengan kemenangan Jurey Latif.
Dipetik dari Malaysian Digest, penerbit "...Dalam Botol" itu menyatakan dia tidak marah dengan kemenangan itu namun dia nyata kecewa dengan keputusan yang dibuat juri.
"Macam mana Jurey boleh menang Pengarah Harapan sedangkan filem "Libas" itu hancur? Saya berani cakap begini kerana saya telah tonton filem itu dan hasilnya memang mengecewakan. Khir Rahman (filem "...Dalam Botol") lebih layak membawa pulang trofi tersebut," katanya.
Jelas Raja Azmi, dia bukan marah disebabkan kekalahan Khir Rahman tetapi bagi kebaikan industri filem Malaysia. "Ini merupakan festival yang amat memalukan apabila pihak penganjur boleh memenangi anugerah anjurannya sendri. Dan ini telah melanggar etika kerana dia adalah Pengarah FFM 24."
Tambahnya lagi, walaupun Jurey tidak mencalonkan namanya sendiri namun dia harus menarik diri awal-awal lagi kerana kedudukannya.
"Memandangkan Jurey adalah Pengarah FFM 24, tidak mungkin dia tidak terlibat dengan pemilihan juri. Saya memang mempertikaikan kredibiliti barisan juri. Pada saya, kelima-lima juri itu tidak arif dalam bidang perfileman. Mereka tidak pernah menerbitkan fillem dan ada di antara mereka itu adalah kawan-kawan kepada Jurey."
"Jika mahu sistem penjurian ini telus, penganjur seharusnya memilih juri-juri yang punya pengetahuan tentang filem. Juri adalah tunjang kepada festival ini. "

Raja Azmi turut mencadangkan Persatuan Seniman Malaysia (Seniman) melakukan sesuatu bagi perkara seperti ini tidak berlaku lagi pada masa hadapan. Dan dia turut memberitahu bahawa dia akan berbincang dengan peguam mengenai keputusan yang dibuat oleh pihak juri.

DASH diet

The DASH diet (Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension) is a diet promoted by the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (part of the NIH, a United States government organization) to control hypertension. This eating plan is rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy foods; includes meat, fish, poultry, nuts and beans; and is limited in sugar-sweetened foods and beverages, red meat, and added fats. In addition to its effect on blood pressure, it is considered a well-balanced approach to eating for the general public. It is now recommended by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) as an ideal eating plan for all Americans.

The DASH diet is based on NIH studies that examined three dietary plans and their results. None of the plans were vegetarian, but the DASH plan incorporated more fruits and vegetables, low fat or nonfat dairy, beans, and nuts than the others studied. Not only does the plan emphasize good eating habits, but also suggests healthy alternatives to "junk food" and discourages the consumption of processed foods. The NIH has published a guidebook, "Your Guide to Lowering your Blood Pressure With DASH", which details the nutrition facts of popular mainstream food items and their healthy alternatives. The manual also provides samples of meal plans and proportions along with their associated nutritional information. The last pages of the manual provides a list of resources and how to obtain them.

The diet reduced systolic blood pressure by 6 mm Hg and diastolic blood pressure by 3 mm Hg in patients with normal blood pressure. Those with hypertension dropped by 11 and 6, respectively. There are several eating plans included in the diet, with the daily caloric intake ranging from 1699 to 3100 dietary calories.

Groupon’s IPO: What You Need To Know

Groupon is expected to finally set a price for its IPO late Thursday, the last in a series of hurdles in its path to go public that have included questions about the viability of its business model and SEC questioning over accounting practices.

Sources have told Reuters and The Wall Street Journal the share price will likely be slightly higher than the $16 to $18 that the company suggested in its previous filings.

If the company sets its share price at $19 or $20, it will be valued at about $12 or $13 billion. Sources told Bloomberg the company has already stopped taking order due to demands for shares.

Plenty of critics aren’t willing to predict a successful IPO, however. One site called it “another example of orchestrated hype that has you in the crosshairs.”

Groupon’s IPO process has been closely critiqued. Here’s how they got to this point:

    Since Groupon filed with the SEC to go public in June, Wall Street has been buzzing with arguments about whether it is worth what was at one point expected to be a $15 billion to $20 billion valuation.

    Critics point to the large percentage of funding its stockholders and directors took off of the table (86%) after its last three rounds, decreasing momentum and an increasing number of large competitors such as Amazon and Google.

    Groupon, muzzled by the SEC quiet period that restricts companies from making some public statements during a period of time surrounding their IPOs, responded with a post from its spokescat. Supporters pointed to Groupon’s 83.1 million subscribers and potential to pivot.

    Meanwhile, the SEC held up the process while questioning an odd metric in the IPO filing that seemed to intentionally direct attention away from Groupon’s marketing costs. Groupon ultimately refiled in August using standard accounting metrics — which turned what had appeared to be operating profits into operating losses.

    Initially, Groupon had planned to raise $750 million. In October, it lowered its goal by about a third and set the goal at between $480 million and $540 million.

    Groupon plans to sell just 4.7% of its outstanding shares, according to Reuters; that would make it the second smallest stake float in the past decade. Offering a small float could push the stock price upward on the first day of sale, as LinkedIn demonstrated earlier this year when its share price on a 9.4% stake soared during its first day on the market.
